My name is Logan Kirksey, though many people across Northwest Florida know me as Logan Kelly, the on-air name I used during more than 20 years in radio at Island 106 and Sunny 98.5. I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and came to faith in Christ as a teenager while on a choir trip to Rochester, New York, with Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church in Buckhead. That life-changing decision has shaped every chapter of my journey since.
Some people also recognize me from my brief “15 minutes of fame” in The Truman Show, which was filmed in Seaside in 1997. I had a small speaking role as a television host, but my favorite memory came at one of the premiere parties when a woman congratulated me on my performance—mistaking me for Ed Harris! It’s a story that still makes me laugh.
In 2015, after seeing far too many marriages around us struggling or ending in divorce, my wife and I launched a marriage enrichment small group at St. Andrew Baptist Church. We simply wanted to help couples strengthen their relationships and honor God’s design for marriage.
Then, in late 2017, after my radio career unexpectedly ended and I was wondering how I would provide for our family of five, God opened a door I never could have imagined. A minister friend connected me with Dennis Stoica, a nationally recognized leader in marriage ministry, who was looking to launch a community-wide marriage initiative. Looking back, I can clearly see that God was calling me into this work.
Today, I have the privilege of serving with Healthy Relationships Florida, partnering with pastors and church leaders across our Northwest Florida to strengthen marriages, build healthier families, and help people grow closer to Christ. We come alongside local churches by providing encouragement, practical resources, and marriage ministry support so they can better disciple couples and families. Few things are more rewarding than watching husbands and wives discover God’s design for marriage and experience renewed hope in their relationships. I believe strong marriages build strong families, strong families build strong churches, and strong churches transform communities. Helping people grow closer to God—and to one another—is what continues to inspire and motivate me every day.
