Bruce Duty is founder & president of CrossCountry3 – a non-profit organization designed to help America’s Veterans & other professionals find purpose & fulfillment in life. This is done through resilience training that assists men & women in discovering new paths in life that provide strong identity & mission.
Bruce Duty knows what it means to serve faithfully—and what it feels like to search for purpose when that season of service ends. A retired Army chaplain with more than 22 years of active duty, Bruce completed two combat deployments to Iraq and received numerous honors, including the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, and Iraqi Campaign Medal. Yet after leaving the military, Bruce found that the hardest battle was not overseas, but within—rediscovering his identity and calling outside of uniform.
For Bruce, faith and patriotism are inseparable. He believes God created him to honor both the Lord and his country. After the attacks of September 11, 2001, at a time when the Army faced a severe shortage of chaplains, Bruce sensed God’s clear leading to step into that role. With prior service in the Air Force Security Forces, along with a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Divinity, Bruce was uniquely prepared to minister to soldiers during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
Over time, God began to shape a new mission in Bruce’s heart—one that grew out of his own transition and his desire to help others avoid walking that road alone. That calling led to the founding of CrossCountry3, a Christ-centered nonprofit devoted to helping veterans and other professionals rediscover purpose, healing, and fulfillment through service. The name reflects the heart of the ministry: the Cross points to Jesus Christ and to Bruce’s travels across the country, while the “3” represents faith, family, and freedom. It also reflects CrossCountry3’s commitment to caring for the whole person—physically, mentally, and spiritually—and points to the Trinity.

Founded in 2023, CrossCountry3 exists to honor God and serve others by teaching resilience skills rooted in biblical truth. Certified in Pathfinder Resilience Training (PRT), Master Resilience Training (MRT), and Paragon Resilience, Bruce saw how powerful these tools could be—but also recognized what was missing in many secular programs. CrossCountry3 intentionally integrates spiritual identity into resilience training, helping participants understand who they are in Christ and how God created them to serve. As Bruce says, “When the soul is strengthened, service flows naturally.”
During training, veterans prayerfully identify their God-given gifts and talents. CrossCountry3 then helps connect them with ministries and organizations that align with those strengths. A key focus of the ministry is partnering with agencies that combat human trafficking. Veterans are uniquely equipped for this work, having already been trained as protectors, freedom fighters, and team members willing to stand against evil. Through additional training and certification, these men and women are prepared to serve on teams that bring light into some of the darkest places in the world.
Bruce’s passion for this mission has opened doors on a national level. Through involvement with the Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) and its coalition addressing human trafficking, Bruce has been invited to provide resilience training that equips others to remain spiritually and emotionally strong while serving on the front lines.
CrossCountry3 also partners with ministries such as Samaritan’s Purse, which delivers Christ-centered aid to those in crisis around the world, and Amazon Vision Ministries, which shares the hope of the Gospel with communities in the Western Amazon Basin of Brazil.
The fruit of this ministry is already evident. Bob, a Navy veteran who completed CrossCountry3’s resilience training, later felt led to serve in Ukraine, his family’s homeland. There, he joined other Christian humanitarian organizations to bring relief, restoration, and the love of Christ to a nation devastated by war.
As founder and president of CrossCountry3, Bruce continues to build relationships with federal, state, and local agencies, as well as non-governmental organizations. He believes one of the greatest challenges facing believers today is recognizing the spiritual battles taking place beneath cultural and global conflicts. His prayer is that CrossCountry3 will equip veterans across America to step boldly into God’s calling, living lives marked by purpose, service, and hope.
Bruce’s current goal is to raise $50,000 to support ongoing resilience training and expand ministry partnerships. More information about CrossCountry3 is available at crosscountry3.com and by emailing Bruce directly at bruce@crosscountry3.com. Bruce also welcomes opportunities to speak at churches, conferences, and community events. Donations may be made through the website, and above all, Bruce asks for prayer for wisdom, provision, protection, and for God to continue opening doors for this ministry to shine His light in dark places.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)
